Skateboarding was due to make its debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games on 25th July this year however the Covid-19 Pandemic unfortunately halted it in its tracks. The postponement of the games came as a disappointment to many skateboarding Olympic hopefuls however most skaters are being positive about the unprecedented scenario they find themselves in.
The qualifications for the games took part over events such as the World Skate SLS Pro Tour, the Dew Tour as well as the International Skateboarding Open of Park Skateboarding and now a documentary for the 'Road to Tokyo' will be released this autumn.
Team USA Olympic Skateboarding rider Nyjah Huston claims, "It just means another year to focus on getting healthier," and Alana Smith also highlighted her priorities in saying,"I'll take being bored over my family being sick any day."
We look forward to the release of the documentary and you can check out the trailer below;
