In an unfortunate incident when Dan Pelletier was born, when trying to remove a tumour the doctor accidentally nicked his spinal cord leaving him paralysed. This has amazingly not stopped 27 year old Dan from living his life and through skateboarding he finds hope and challenges to improve and get better every day.
The short film by Mike Steinkamp was posted on the Berrics website and is titled 'I Keep Livin' It.' It shows how Dan used crutches to help him skate when he was a teenager however due to some further complications with his health he was left not being able to stand or walk. This has not deterred Dan in his passion for skateboarding and brushes aside any negativity with his positive outlook on life despite everything he has been through.
Dan explains, "I feel like I'm alive when I'm skateboarding, compared to lying rotting in a bed you know." Dan is a huge inspiration to everyone in the skateboarding community and anyone living with a disability.
Keep on shredding Dan!
