Skate After School is a Phoenix-based nonprofit organisation which offers kids an after school program to help them learn how to skateboard. The project started in 2012 and their view is that too many underprivileged children are left unsupervised after school and that offering skateboarding as an activity keeps them safe whilst doing something fun.
Unfortunately the organisation relies heavily on volunteers and with the current social distancing and lockdown measures enforced due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, they have had to adapt to continue to support the children.
Unfortunately the state of Arizona is still high on the list of top income disparity and wealth inequality States. This gap in income growth is only one of many economic challenges faced by Arizona as unemployment is high and poverty is a major issue.
Skate After School are doing their part by providing free skateboards to children in Phoenix, Arizona to help them skate during the pandemic . On the Skate After School website you can help the cause and donate. Minimum donations start at $10 and you can also provide equipment if possible as any help is welcomed by the organisation. Skate After School is made possible by the generosity of the public and is an incredible way to help deprived children.
If you can help contribute in any way please do, as it will keep the kids skateboarding at this difficult time.
