This week sees some early year departures for Element Skateboards including long term rider Nyjah Huston. Dominick Walker, and Chris Colbourne also leave the iconic skate company for pastures new however the destination for the trio is still unknown.
Nyjah began his skateboarding career at the age of seven with Element and quickly began to showcase his talent even at such a young age. Having then left Element to do his own thing he did return to the company in 2011 when he was still only 16. Nyjah’s roots run deep with Element however it seems now it is time for a new challenge. Both Element and Nyjah posted on social media to announce the departure.
Nyjah released a statement on Instagram saying, "I thought this day would maybe never come. It’s time for me and Element Skateboards to part ways. I appreciate the love you guys have givin to me over the years so much! My first sponsor ever when I was 7 years old. I’ll never forget getting that first box of product and being so fucking pumped!! I wanna thank everyone that’s been a part of the brand and especially the founder @johnnyschillereff for always having my back! Much Love! New beginnings are in the works and I can’t wait to share it with you guys.'
There are so many options for Nyjah and with his Send Saturdays crew involved in the YouTube vlogs he would have no shortage of talented riders to start his own company. Watch this space!
