Jenkemmag released a video yesterday which shows the current state of the Brooklyn Banks skate spot which have been under construction for some years now. The video documents the guys' mission to pass security and enter over a fence on the side of the Big Banks where the brick work has been removed. Jekenkem had the idea that they would salvage some of the iconic red, rustic bricks and post to skateboarders who have killed it at the spot since the 90's such as Josh Kalis, Brian Wenning and Keith Hufnagel.
Steve Rodriguez, owner of 5boro has been monitoring the situation closely and has been actively seeking answers from the Department of Transport and the Parks Department as to whether the banks will be restored when construction of the Brooklyn Bridge is complete.
In an interview with GQ, Steve is remaining positive the skate haven will be restored however when this might be, we unfortunately do not know.
