Brainfeeder artist Thundercat is back with a hilarious new video for “Dragonball Durag,” a single from his forthcoming album ‘It is What It Is.’
The video, directed by Zack Fox, starts with the flamboyant bassist leaving his crib on a micro scooter wearing shorts, sunglasses and an extravagant oriental print shirt whilst also iced out with diamonds and various gold chains draped around his neck.
He proceeds to take a walk around a sun-blessed L.A during which he clocks a magic durag sitting amongst some random trash on the street. He drapes the durag on himself proudly and begins to strut the streets, attempting to impress various ladies on his journey, occasionally stopping to thrust his hips in some awesome cringe worthy dancing.
He asks the women how he looks in his durag whilst claiming ‘“I may be covered in cat hair, but I still smell good” and even attempts moon walking and serenading the ladies from the sidewalk.
Comedian Quinta Brunson and Los Angeles Pop Rock band HAIM also have comedic cameos in the video, displaying their bemusement and disgust at his constant awkward advances towards the ladies. The album ‘It Is What It Is’ is set to officially release on 3rd April 2020.
